Can we wash hair during periods

Is it right to wash hair during periods? Does it have any effect on fertility? How is women’s health related to this thing? Some women believe that washing hair during periods does nothing like this. Western science says that not wash hair during periods is just a superstition, but what Ayurveda says is its perspective on how periods and hair washing are correlated. What does it mean, and what is the fact behind it? So, in this article, we will know what can happen by washing hair during periods and what things can be avoided by not washing hair during periods.

Let us first know what menstruation is. It is mostly believed that periods mean dirt. But periods do not mean dirt at all. During periods, a woman’s body is purified, and toxins are removed from the body. This is a natural process. It is the process of removing the excess heat in the body, in which some mucus and tissues are taken out along with the blood flow and it is a medium to remove the excess heat from the body. So that the woman’s body and uterus can get ready to conceive again in the next cycle. But what happens when a woman washes her hair on the initial first second day during periods, which is generally considered to be 3-5 days, then what will be the effect, and what will be its effect across the body? So now let’s understand it in detail…

When blood is flowing through the body, the body is being cooled or normalized, the excess heat is being removed, that is, the body is cooling down. During that time when we wash our hair, our body temperature decreases by washing hair and there are adverse effects. Generally, the cooling that is being done and the heat that is being taken out of the body, it stops there because if your body temperature decreases, then the process of removing excess heat from the body is obstructed, and the uterus does not get cleaned properly. So maybe it does not happen to many women, but it happens to many women that they start getting clots or after washing their hair, the flow of blood decreases or it stops or periods do not come. Because of this, Vat dosha is formed in the body and this causes further PCOD, endometriosis, cyst or so on and many other infertility-related problems. If we stop the natural process of our body like faeces, urine, menstrual flow, semen, or whatever is removed from the body, then it can cause Vatjanik problems. So, if we want to keep our bodies healthy, and avoid reproductive issues then we have to take proper care of our periods and hair washing is an important aspect.

Many women will say that if we wash our hair with lukewarm water and not with normal water? But when we wash our hair with lukewarm water, that water was lukewarm for some time, but in the process of cooling, in the process of drying, it will cool down first and then it will dry. So,what in the end, body temperature is getting affected in this too.

Only three days we have to avoid, three days we do not wash our hair and on the fourth day, Ayurveda says in Rajswala Paricharya (Menstrual Care), Ayurveda has written that on the fourth day of the period, we should take a good bath from hair to toe Because three days are considered to be the main flow, the flow decreases on the fourth and fifth days and almost stops on the fifth day.

If those who have a heavy flow, they should wash their hair on the third day of the period so that their flow comes under control and there may be a deficiency of haemoglobin due to heavy flow can get prevented.

But for those who have low flow, the period comes and goes in two to three days or there is less flow, they should take some warm things like ajwain tea, cinnamon water, hot soup, etc. So that the body can detox itself and the period flow improves, because if the flow is less than three days, then it can be the cause of infertility and reflects many body conditions like anaemic, hormonal imbalance or some disorder. So to wash the hair, if there is a lot of flow then you can wash the hair on the third or fourth day for cooling, those with less flow should wash the hair on the fourth or fifth day so that the uterus does not get cooling.

So, to wash the hair, if there is a lot of flow then you can wash the hair on the third or fourth day to cool down, those with less flow should wash the hair on the fourth or fifth day so that the uterus does not get cold. Because the blood that keeps on circulating in the whole body, if the soles of your feet or the center of your head is cold, then the blood flow that keeps on circulating, it spreads coolness in the body, which affects the uterus.

So do not wash your hair for at least three days in periods, if it is urgent, wash your hair before the date of the period so that your work can be completed. But in case you want to stop or avoid hair washing, you can apply sandalwood paste on your hair like this, it is not sticky, it comes off after drying and you feel good, excess oil also comes out.
